FAQs
Are 6mm Polycarbonate Sheets Strong?
6mm polycarbonate sheets are 200 times stronger than glass and other plastic alternatives such as acrylic. Yet, they are incredibly lightweight, easy to manoeuvre and simple to install.
How Do You Cut 6mm Polycarbonate Sheets?
Polycarbonate sheets can be cut with a circular saw or jigsaw, however, a circular saw is the best tool for cutting larger polycarbonate lengths.
What’s the Difference Between 4mm Polycarbonate and 6mm Polycarbonate?
The difference between 4mm and 6mm polycarbonate sheets is simply the thickness of the material. Thicker sheets are more suited for applications that require superior strength and durability.
The thickness of the sheet also determines light transmission. Typically, thicker sheets let through less light, but this doesn’t mean the space will be darker. Polycarbonate actually diffuses the light for more even distribution.
