16mm Clear Polycarbonate H Section
The Clear Polycarbonate H Section is extruded as a low cost budget joining section for twinwall and multiwall sheets, sometimes solid polycarbonate sheets if supported well.
Using a H-Sections work better on temporary projects or polytunnels. They are ideally suited for polytunnels because the H-Section is flexible and can curve across the arch to ensure the polycarbonate sheets are joined all the way across.
H-Sections are an option for some projects, however, for 99% of roofing applications we would recommend our Snapdown Glazing Bars, which are more suitable, longer lasting and easier to install.
H-Sections are commonly used to join two sheets length ways (end on end) to achieve longer length coverings. When doing this ensure the H-Sections are directly supported by a timber purlin and well sealed with silicone to ensure a proper waterproof seal.
H-Sections are not self supporting, therefore they cannot support their own weight or the weight of the sheets. These bars need to be supported be purlins, or else the structure may collapse.
The thicknesses we offer are: 4mm / 6mm (65mm width), 8mm / 10mm (70mm width) and 16mm (90mm width).
These profiles are designed to be very tight fitting to help create a water tight seal.
Do not prise the H-Section, slide the sheets into place to join them together.
